Flying Around the Practice Area

I managed to snap these pictures the other day (flying one-handed) up around 3000' just south of San Jose. This is looking east over Anderson Reservoir.
The view west, out the other window, with the Santa Cruz mountains in the distance and that's highway 101 running up the valley in the bottom right.
Time to clean the windshield again. The view straight ahead through the propeller. San Jose starts just after those hills and the San Francisco Bay is beyond that in the mirk. That's the compass hanging down at the top of the picture.
Another shot to the east, showing the Lick Observatory atop Mt. Hamilton in the distance, which is fun to go fly around.
Next, I start cross-country flying (anyting over 50 nautical miles from my home airport), so that should provide a few more opportunities to take photos.
